Why Hire Uday Law?

Attorney Richard G. Uday

Richard G. Uday

Richard G. Uday has practiced law since 1988, primarily in the area of criminal defense. At the beginning of his 25 plus years of legal experience, Rich worked exclusively as an appellate attorney preparing and arguing criminal appeals cases before the Utah Supreme Court and the Utah Court of Appeals.

Rich later transferred to trial work maintaining a heavy major felony case-load, where he has represented numerous clients charged with such serious crimes as capital homicide, arson, aggravated robbery, forgery, child abuse, rape and aggravated sexual offenses and drug charges.

After 7 years experience, Rich opened his own law practice in 1995 and has remained focused on defending those charged with committing criminal offenses ever since that time. He housed that law practice in his former office located on 900 South in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In addition to his criminal law practice, Rich began teaching law courses early in his career at the Salt Lake Community College. After a couple of semesters teaching as an adjunct instructor he was hired by the college as director of the Paralegal Studies Program and directed that Program for 13 years. As a law professor at the college he taught courses on Criminal Law & Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law, Research and Writing, Legal Ethics and other courses offered in the Program.

While teaching at the college Rich maintained his law practice working on criminal appeals and major felony criminal cases. In 2007, Rich left the college to return to a full time practice as a partner in the law firm of Schatz, Anderson & Uday.

Beginning in January of 2011, Rich resigned from the partnership and returned to the enjoyment of operating his own law practice. Uday Law operates out of new offices at the Trolley Corners Center in Salt Lake City; contact information for Uday Law is listed below.

Rich's experiences above and his commitment to the law and assisting others is also evident from his public service and the three year period he served as the director of Lawyers Helping Lawyers, a not-for-profit corporation created to assist Lawyers and legal staff members struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and/or mental health issues negatively impacting their lives and professional careers. Rich's involvement in this American Bar Association Program demonstrates his elevated level of experience and basis of knowledge on these complicated and difficult issues and assures that hiring Rich as your defense attorney is the practical and best choice to assist you in defending the criminal charges that have been filed against you, your family member and/or your loved one.
